Episode 115: How Can We Suffer Differently-Talking Miscarriage with Emily Adams

Tiff and I shared pieces of our own stories with miscarriage and started the conversation into a topic that almost seems hush hush when it happens...perhaps that's because it's so personal our friends and family just don't know how best to reach out, perhaps it's because some people feel like it's really not much of a loss, or perhaps it's because we've kept it a secret for fear of hurting even more if we share. Whatever the reason, miscarriage and loss can leave us feeling incredibly isolated and battling mountains of difficult emotions.

Our guest today is has a special heart for mommas experiencing a baby loss that surely stems from her own experience with 6 precious little souls now in heaven, but also from ever so much grace that has been poured out to give her the strength to overcome her own losses and use them as fuel to comfort and guide those who might be holding that same weight on their hearts.

Please welcome our guest, Emily Adams!

Takeaways (01:00:44)

  1. Our emotions come from thoughts we are having around our circumstances and experiences, and our emotions lead us to choosing action or inaction.

  2. We have control over this whole process, and it begins with understanding the thoughts that are leading to these emotions.

  3. Our Blessed Mother can help us surrender ourselves and our plans, and even our loved ones to God. We need only start the conversation with her.

And remember sweet momma, you are doing beautiful work!
